Tata Power wins five prestigious awards at the 54th Association of Business Communicators Awards Nite 2015 (Feb 27, 2015)

• Enerji Talk, Tata Power's internal magazine won in two categories Bronze in the category of Best Internal Magazine and Bronze for Best Indian Language Publication
• Gold for Greenolution, Company's environment campaign in the category of environment communication.
• Tata Power Club Enerji won in the digital communication category, bagging the Gold in the category of Multimedia CD Rom Interactive Presentation.
• Twitter Meter won Bronze in the category of Web Communication Online Campaign.

Agni V , DRDO missile was launched at 8.10am on 31.01.2015 from SED Launcher and reached the target of 5000 KM successfully. This indeed is a moment of great pride and accomplishment of the in-house R&D demonstrated by SED team. All 'Secured Rugged Ground Computers' and 'Missile Interface Units' used are made by SED. We also proved the efficacy of the sliding bus design executed on the TCT Agni V launcher.

Tata Power have been honoured with the "CBIP Award for Outstanding Performance in the Power Sector" and 'Power Persona of the Year' respectively at the Central Board of Irrigation and Power (CBIP) Awards.

Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, releases commemorative coin to mark the 175th birth anniversary of Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata.

Trombay Thermal Power Station has been honoured in three prominent categories for the second consecutive time at the 15th CII National Award for Energy Management 2014. These categories include "Excellent Energy Efficient Unit", "Best Innovative Project" and "Most Useful Presentation".

Tata Power - DSM Cell received Inovative Energy Saving Service award at 15th National Award for Excellence in Energy Management 2014 by CII.

Tata Power's Jojobera Quality Control team wins Gold Award at Chapter Convention Quality Circle 2014 by Quality Circle Forum India, Durgapur (QCFI). The case study presented by the Company at the convention has helped in reducing the water used in ash plant area.

Tata Power has been conferred the National Award for Excellence in Corporate Governance for 2013 by The Institute of Company Secretaries of India.

An award was also conferred on Mr. H. M. Mistry as Company Secretary of the winning Company.

Tata Power's Joint Venture Company Maithon Power Limited wins the prestigious Tata Steel Coal Trophy 2014, a prestigious T20 cricket tournament.

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL) recently won the 'Innovation for India Awards 2014' for developing Tamper Evident & Defraud Electricity Meter. (April 2014)

Tata Power is recognised amongst World's Most Ethical Company 2014, by the Ethisphere Institute, an independent centre of research in USA, promoting best practices in corporate ethics and governance.

Tata Power won 5 prizes inclusive of 2 special prizes in the 4th Bougainvillea & Bonsai Show organized by Maharashtra Nature Park and Mumbai Rose Society .

Tata Power won the prize for the Best single Bougainvillea specimen for its outstanding white bougainvillea "Shubhra" which also had the privilege of being adjudicated and awarded "the best specimen plant of a variety of Indian Origin".

Tata Power's red bougainvillea variety won the award for the best specimen plant of any variety. Tata Power also won first prizes for collection of 6 different varieties of bougainvilleas and collection of 3 plants of white bougainvillea "Shubhra".

Indian Register Quality Systems (IRQS) certified Maithon Power Limited for successful implementation of ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007.

Tata Power has been honoured with the Silver Shield Award by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) for it Mundra Ultra Mega Power Plant (UMPP) under its 'Comprehensive Award Scheme'. This award has been awarded for the early completion of Mundra UMPP's unit 5 (800 MW). (February 6th 2014).

Tata Power, India's largest integrated power company has been honoured with the Silver Shield Award by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) in two categories under its 'Comprehensive Award Scheme'. The award has been presented to Tata Power for its excellence in 'Performance for Distributing Power to the city of Mumbai' and 'Performance of Thermal Power Company' for Trombay Combined Cycle Power Station.

Tata Power was crowned as 'Overall Champions' in the prestigious 55th Mumbai Rose Show jointly organised by Mumbai Rose Society & Maharashtra Nature Park on 1st & 2nd February 2014. Tata Power won a total of 43 prizes - 31 First, 9 Second & 3 Third - under various categories including "Queen of the Show", the second most important award in a Rose Show for the beautiful bi-colour fragrant variety 'DOUBLE DELIGHT'.

Khopoli BPO Center -A Tata Power and TBSS initiative won the first prize for

PRIDE: Partner Recognition for Illustrious Delivery & Excellence for being the BEST Center & BEST Partner across its partnership for Customer Care services.

Tata Power's Trombay Thermal Power Station awarded three National Awards at the 14th Annual Excellence in Energy Management Awards organised by CII, in Hyderabad for "Excellent Energy Efficient unit", "Best innovative energy saving Project" and "Most useful presentation.

Winner of the MACCIA Awards 2013 in the Power and Energy category for the excellent leadership and commitment demonstrated by the company for the progress of the state of Maharashtra. (August 2013)

Tata Power Wins the Energize Awards 2012-2013 for "Excellence in Power Transmission" and "Excellence in Power Distribution" in Mumbai to recognize those organizations and individuals, who have made and are making a difference to India's energy sector.

Tata Power's Power House #6 has won the 2nd runner up award in the prestigious Tata Agrico Best Garden Awards 2013. (June 2013)

Tata Power's Process Innovation entry "Cost Reduction by use of alternative coal in Mundra" has won the Tata Innovista award at the Global Finals. Tata Power had three teams that made it to the finals. This is in itself a great achievement. May 2013. April 2013.

Tata Power announced the commissioning of 21 MW wind project in Rajasthan on 25th April 2013.

Team Mundra synchronised Unit#5 on 04/03/2013 at 23:37 hrs the final leg of Mundra UMPP journey.

The journey started in early 2008 and has brought many firsts to Team's credit e.g.:

• Commissioning of Nation's first 800MW super critical Unit
• Commissioning of Nation's first Ultra Mega Power Project
• Commissioning total 3,200 MW at single location in a year, and many more.

Team commissioned five Units of UMPP, back to back. First Unit was synchronised on 08/01/12.

Since then continuous improvements has been made by the Team and despite numerous unexpected hurdles, the last Unit is synchronised remarkably fast:

• Steam blow-out to synchronisation: Unit#10 - 230 days, Unit#50 - 37 days
• GT back charging to synchronisation: Unit#10 - 85 days, Unit#50 - 08 days

These improvements are demonstrated by reducing gap between synchronisation of consecutive Units (refer graph)

Tata Power in all bagged 86 prizes (51 first prizes, 19 second prizes and 16 third prizes) at the Annual Vegetable, Fruit & Flower Show 2013 organised by the National Society of the Friend of Trees at VJTI Matunga on 16th and 17th of February 2013

• Allows Tata Power to trade Certified Emission Reductions (CERs) it would earn from the renewable energy project
• Tata Power is committed to reducing its carbon footprint and intends to have a 20 - 25% contribution from "clean power sources

Tata Power's Jojobera Quality Circle (QC) team "Achievers" got Gold award (Three star) for their project "Overflow problem in cooling tower hot box' and Tata Power's Bhira Quality Circle (QC) team "FIREBALL" won Gold award (Three star) for the project 'More time required for Starting of BPSU' in ICQCC International Convention of Quality Control Circles -2012 held at Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia from 14th October to 17th October 2012.

Tata Power Quality Circles have won following awards at the Chapter Convention Quality Circle (CCQC - 2012) conducted by QCFI, Mumbai Chapter. September 2012.

Trombay Thermal Station has been certified for Environment Management System (EMS) ISO 14001-2004 with effect from 16.08.12.

• A bronze award to Bhira Hydro Station for the year 2009-10.
• Trombay Combined Cycle GT Power Station (180 MW)- 'Bronze Award' under the category 'Performance of Thermal Power Stations' for year 2010-11
• Distribution Company-  'Bronze medal' under the category 'Performance of Distribution Companies' for Year 2010-11.

Mr. S Ramakrishnan, Executive Director (Finance) Tata Power has been awarded the best CFO Award in the Infrastructure category at the prestigious CNBC TV 18 Awards 2012. These awards are held to honour the stalwarts who have successfully steered their corporations through some of the most turbulent times in the recent past. February 16th, 2012.

Tata Power's blooms bagged 20 prizes at the 53rd Mumbai Rose Show jointly organized by the Mumbai Rose society and the Maharashtra Nature Park,. The Company participated in various sections of flowers such as colours, fragrance, shape of the flower, flower arrangements and other categories.

The queen of the show award which is awarded to the 2nd best flower in the entire competition was also won by Tata Power. 3rd February 2012.

In recognition of its commitment to continuously improve quality, the LABORATORY QUALITY SERVICES INTERNATIONAL (LQSi) SOUTH HOLLAND" has issued a "QUALITY AWARD 2011" to the Tata Power Trombay Laboratory.

Tata Power was awarded the top honour for stable and outstanding safety performance, at the 10th Annual Greentech Safety Award 2011 by the Greentech Foundation. The Awards were presented at the National Convention Awards 2011.

Tata Power's Jojobera Thermal Power Station has won four awards representing various categories at the Annual Flower Show at Jamshedpur, organized by Tata Steel, JUSCO and the Horticultural Society, Jamshedpur from 6th - 8th January 2012.

Tata Power was awarded "Appreciation Award" for Long Association in view of QCFI Mumbai Chapter. 21 Quality Circle(QC) teams from Tata Power participated in Chapter Convention Quality Circle (CCQC - 2011) held on Sunday, 28th August 2011.

GLOBAL LAUREL FOR INNOVATION

Quality Control (QC) team of the Jojobera Thermal Power Station has won the Company recognition at the ICQCC convention held at Singapore from the 15th to 17th June 2011 for their innovative model for pumping stored water using air. The model was appreciated for its energy saving and environment friendly potential and the ingenious use of resources.

M/s Ashok Sethi, Vice President (Mumbai Licence Area) Operations, Vijay Chourey, Head-Trombay Thermal Power Station and Anand Gurav, Manager- Environment received the award on behalf of Tata Power from the Honourable Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Prithviraj Chavan at a function organised in Y.B Chavan Hall on the occasion of World Environment Day. 5th June 2011.

Mr. Raghukumar Paruchari from Tata Power SED received the Best Information Security Practices Award under the 'CISO 100 Awards 2011' on 12th May, 2011 in recognition of 'ISO-27001 Implementation' Project.
